Our Dawgie Daycare N.A.I.L.S. program – No fear, no stress nail trim training!

Nail Acceptance and Individualized Learning Service (N.A.I.LS.)

Trimming your dog’s nails is an important grooming task that will help them stay happy and healthy.  Nails that are too long are at risk of being torn off, which can result in an injury that may require veterinary care. Longer nails also make it harder for dogs to walk comfortably. When your dog’s nails hit the floor constantly, this can put more pressure on the nail bed. This pressure can cause discomfort that forces your dog to distribute their weight differently while walking, which can affect the way the toe and paw joints are aligned and can lead to long-term health issues.

If your dog hates getting their nails trimmed and simply won’t let you do it … WE CAN HELP!

The All Dawgs N.A.I.L.S. program is a unique service for your dog enrolled in our Dawgie Daycare — with the end goal that your dog learns to accept the nail trimming process. We don’t force your dog in order to trim their nails … we teach them how to accept it!

Our N.A.I.L.S. program includes:

  • Individual work with your dog each time they are in daycare during the training process
  • Gradual desensitization and acceptance of the trimming tools
  • Positive reinforcement — no stress, no fear
  • Customized to your dog
