Advanced Training Assessment

Is your dog ready for our advanced training?  Find out!

 

Do you think your dog is ready for All Dawgs’ advanced training? If so, bring your best friend in for an Advanced Class Assessment that will help him or her gain entry to any of our advanced classes, including:

Our Advanced Training Assessment is only $25 and takes only 15 minutes to complete. Your dog will have two opportunities to achieve each of the following skills:

  • Walk on a loose leash
  • Come when called on a 20-foot leash
    • Your dog must remain in either the sit or the down as you walk away, turn to face your dog and wait for the trainer to tell you to call your dog.
    • Your dog must come directly to you after being called
  • One-minute sit-stay (dog must remain in a sit the entire time on a 4 – 6 foot leash) 
    • You may only give ONE command to stay but can give a praise word once during the stay
    • Your hands must be folded or at your side
  • One-minute down-stay (dog must remain in a down position the entire time on a 4 – 6 leash)
    • You may only give ONE command to stay but can give a praise word once during the stay
    • Your hands must be folded or at your side
  • Sit politely for petting
    • Your dog may not jump on the trainer
    • Your dog may not attempt to bite the trainer
    • Your dog must maintain self control. For example, the dog may not wiggle so much that the trainer is unable to pet your dog
  • Your dog will also be walked on-leash by another friendly dog to check for any dog-to-dog reactivity

Assessments are scheduled with one of our experienced trainers once we receive your registration, payment and your dog’s vaccinations . We will work with you to schedule an assessment during a time that is convenient for your schedule. You may use a training collar and/or harness but treats may only be used before the assessment begins.
