Service Dawg Evaluation Information

We look forward to working with you and your dog in our Service Dawg Evaluation. This evaluation will be held at the All Dawgs facility at 30 Railroad Ave, Albany, New York. We are off of Fuller Road.

During this evaluation, we will:

  • Evaluate your dog’s temperament for service dog work. Service dogs must be able to be in public and
    • Cope with myriad of stressors (visual, auditory and space-related) and react appropriately after startled
    • cannot be reactive towards other dogs
    • cannot have any type of resource guarding tendencies. NOTE: If your dog is a restricted diet, please bring 3-5 ounces of a WET dog food your dog may eat. Otherwise, we will need to use our food.
  • Assess your dog’s obedience skills. If appropriate for service dog work, this will allow us to know where to continue your dog’s general obedience training.

If we determine your dog is appropriate for service dog work, we will develop a contract for  the training needed to complete your dog’s service dog training including:

  • General Obedience
  • Task Training
  • Public Access Training

Your evaluation is valid for 30 days. Contracts not signed within that period will require another evaluation for an additional fee.

Please note:

  • We have a ‘no cancel’ policy for the above lesson(s). If you are un able to make the lesson, we ask that you please email your trainer, Diane Blackman, at least two (2) hours before your lesson at dianeb@alldawgs.com  as a courtesy so we are not waiting for you at your appointment.
  • We may not be able to hold the evaluation for late arrivals. Please be on time.
  • Please bring your dog on a nylon, cotton, or leather collar and a 3 to 4-foot leash. Retractable leashes are not good training tools.
  • Make sure your dog has a chance to relieve him/herself before your evaluation, so we don’t have to stop once we get started!
  • We will be unable to issue any refunds or exchanges of funds to another service for this lesson.

We look forward to working with you and your dog soon!
